Abeer Helmy has over 20 years of experience in audit, assurance, and transaction support, with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for financial institutions operating in Egypt and the regulatory frameworks applicable to BFSIs. Her experience spans listed financial services and insurance, asset management, investment banking, lending, mortgage and leasing, investments funds, and brokerage institutions in Egypt.
Helmy led multiple quality reviews of several Egyptian banks and was involved in performing regulatory reporting activities, reviewing compliance with the Central Bank of Egypt instructions and financial due diligence assignments. She has significant experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as she participated in the IFRS’s courses and prepared and conducted courses for banking insitutions regarding the transition to the new CBE regulations.
Helmy holds a BSc in commerce, with a major in accounting, as well as a diploma in auditing and accounting from Cairo University. She is a member of the Accounting and Auditing Society and she has been a CPA since 2011.
