Bassam Mokhtar has over 18 years of experience in audit, assurance, and transaction support, with in-depth knowledge of non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs). He is equally experienced in providing support to listed entities considering his expertise in navigating regulations set by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX).
He has been responsible for several assignments for major public and private companies. His portfolio includes large fintech groups operating in Egypt as well as major listed NBFIs providing fintech solutions, electronic payment services, and investment banking services in Egypt.
Mokhtar also leads a large portfolio of audit assignments including related regulatory reporting requirements including AML, corporate governance, and group audits across sectors such as financial services, fintech, microfinance, consumer finance, manufacturing, financial investments, construction, real estate, agriculture, and hospitality.
He is also a member of the firm's technical team, responsible for supporting audit teams through consultations on complex accounting/auditing challenges and issues.
He holds a BSc in commerce from from Ain Shams University with a major in accounting. He has been a member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors (ESAA) since 2012, and in 2013 he was certified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in Egypt for auditing joint-stock companies.
