Kamel Saleh is the Managing Partner of Saleh, Barsoum, and Abdel Aziz (SBA)—one of Egypt’s largest professional services firms. Saleh started his career at BDO in England, remaining there for five years before moving to Egypt in 1990. Since then, he has accumulated over 35 years of experience in the fields of auditing, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and investments, as well as in providing auditing, financial, and accounting consultancy services to some of the most prominent corporations in Egypt and the region.
With a track record spanning three decades of working with public and private sector financial and other institutions in Egypt and the region, Saleh has gained extensive experience in operations, restructuring, and privatization. He has provided audit and business advisory services in relation to group structuring, IPOs, and M&As to a number of international and local clients. He was the lead advisor on a number of major privatization projects, restructurings, and carve-outs in different sectors. Saleh is also an advisor to leading PE and investment banks in Egypt on transaction structuring. He has worked across multiple countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Switzerland, England, UAE, and Algeria.
Saleh was a member of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), and Chairman of the Board’s Audit Committee from 2005 to 2015. He was a member of the Audit Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt from 2015 to 2019 and is currently Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Saleh has also been General Secretary and Board Member of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors since 2000 to date and a member of the Egyptian American Business Council since 2014.
Saleh received a BA in economics and computer science from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1985, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Egyptian Society of Accountants and Auditors.
